Good Advice

So I love to get good advice from family and friends. I just like those little tips that make life a little easier, so I wanted to post some of the good advice/tips I have received.

After I had Jessi, I was overwhelmed with the cleaning, cooking, and all the new demands of a small baby. My dear friend Kathy Collins came and gave me a small quote that I have remembered ever since.
"Cleaning and scrubbing can wait for tomorrow for babies grow up much to my sorrow,
So quite down cobwebs and dust go to sleep, cause I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."

Next, Molly Sherwood gave me some advice when I got married. Always keep up with the laundry. Small little advice, but it sure makes things easier if your laundry isn't taking over your life.

Finally, Ana Garrett told me about some baby detergent that was half the price of dreft. Yaaahh, I am a sucker for a good deal. The detergent ALL came out with ALL BABY, it is cheap and it works great, I haven't had any problems with it. I also love the smell. Thank you for the great little tip.

Okay girls now spill all the good stuff you have, you know I can use it. It doesn't have to do with babies either, just what ever you have.

OKAY LETS SEE...MY SISTER LET ME KNOW OF THIS ONE...BUY THE CHEAPEST NEWBORN DIAPERS YOU CAN FIND...THEY ARE LITERALLY IN THEM FOR ABOUT 10 MIN BEFORE THEY POOP AGAIN-- AT LEAST BOTH MY KIDS DID. YOU WILL SAVE TONS OF MONEY THE FIRST COUPLE OF WEEKS...

NEXT TIP-- IF YOUR CHILD TAKES A PASSY GOOD-- LITERALLY GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR, CRAWL TO THE CRIB AND REACH YOUR HAND OVER THEIR CRIB WITHOUT THEM SEEING YOU TO PUT THE PASSY BACK IN THEIR MOUTH AT NIGHT-SOUNDS STUPID I KNOW BUT--THEY END UP SLEEPING SOOO MUCH BETTER AND LEARN TO FALL BACK ASLEEP WITHOUT YOU!

NEXT-- IF YOU PLAN ON NURSING- #1 BUY OR MAKE A HOOTER HIDER~~LIFE SAVERS!!, #2 ALWAYS, ALWAYS NURSE COVERED UP- EVEN AT HOME- SO THEY DON'T KNOW ANY DIFFERENT--I SCREWED BOTH MY KIDS UP BY SPOILING THEM AT HOME...THEY HATE NURSING UNDER A BLANKET.

NEXT-- WANT A FLAWLESS GIRLS HAIRDO?? DO THEIR HAIR WHILE THEY ARE STILL IN THE BATHTUB PLAYING-- I FOUND IT SOOO MUCH EASIER THAN TRYING TO GET HER TO SIT STILL.

OH==ANOTHER ONE ON SLEEPING...I WOULD NEVER WRAP, BE QUIET, OR PUT MY NEWBORN IN THEIR CRIB FOR SLEEPING DURING THE DAY...LET THEM SLEEP WHERE EVER, WITHOUT BEING WRAPPED LIKE YOU WOULD AT NIGHT-- THIS HELPS THEM DIFFERENIATE BETWEEN DAY AND NIGHT-- LATER ON WHEN THEY ARE EXCELLENT SLEEPERS YOU CAN LET THEM SLEEP IN THEIR CRIB FOR NAPS..UNTIL THEM-- SEPARATE THE TWO LIKE THE PLAGUE.

OKAY-- I COULD PROBABLY GO ON FOR DAYS...I'LL QUIT NOW..I AM SOO EXCITED TO SEE THIS BABY GIRL!!

Ok, Dawn I am so laughing at the picture of the lotion mound in the closet! Girl, you've got your hands full! Jess is quite the little miss! I'm sure you don't have anything better to do than re-wash all their clothes! C'mon now, do ya? I wish I was there to help you out. I'm so excited for your new baby! We'll be waiting to hear when the event starts so don't forget to call for help!

Love ya girl!

P.S. My bit of good advice is to pick up your house good enough at night that when you get up in the morning you don't have a total wreck to start your day out with!

I seriously have no suggestions in the mom department. But thanks for bringing Jessi by the office the other day. She is so cute!! Good luck with girl no. 2, she'll be here any minute.

Enjoy every minute with your little ones. It took me until the fourth baby to realize I needed to stop wishing my kids lives away. I would find myself wishing that they were older and could do more for themselves instead of just enjoying the moment. I think all of us moms do that once in a while, but I'm trying harder now to enjoy being the maid, taxi driver, cook, bum wiper, entertainer, etc., etc. They are only little once!

I would have to agree with you on the BABY ALL laundry soap. The best ever. My son has sensitive skin and we've had no problems with the detergent.

Enjoyed your blog page.
